Aminata Fofanah - CEO

Aminata Fofanah is a self-motivated, dedicated, very dependable and result oriented person with experience of working as a team, well organised and proactive in providing timely, efficient and accurate support to work colleagues from experience. Approachable, well presented and able to establish good working relationships with a range of different people Aminata Fofanah is a passionate advocate for Women and Girls, dedicated to fostering empowerment, leadership, and inclusivity she believes that by empowering women and girls, we can create positive change that benefits society as a whole. She is the dedicated and compassionate founder and Chief Executive Officer for the Women and Girls Empowerment Forum (WaGEF). She is committed to creating a safe and supportive space where women and girls can thrive, grow and uplift each other. Over the past 10 years, Aminata has gained a lot of experience working as an Administrator, a Finance Manager, Budget Analyst and coach and mentor to women and young girls. Aminata holds a Master Degree in Business Administration (MBA) - Finance at the University of Makeni, Bachelors Degree in Accounting and Finance University of Makeni, Higher Teachers Certificate Secondary from the Northern Polytechnic Makeni. She is currently Pursuing a second Master in Corporate Governance, Accounting, Auditing and Taxation from the Ernest Bai Koroma University of Science and Technology Magburaka Campus. In addition, she has extensive expertise in a variety of administrative and financial roles, and she is proficient in a wide range of accounting software, including Quick Books.

Michael S. Tarawallie - Communications Officer

Michael Tarawali is a versatile communication specialist with a creative flair and a strategic mind-set. Michael is skilled in crafting persuasive messages that resonate with diverse audiences. He is also proficient in social media management, copywriting, and event coordination. Strong analytical skills, content creation, with a focus on leveraging insights to refine communication strategies. When it comes to working with others, Michael is a real asset to any team with a collaborative approach to problem-solving. Committed to continuous learning and staying abreast of industry/organization trends to drive innovation in communication practices. Michael holds a Bachelors of Arts in Mass Communication from the University of Makeni. Currently, Michael is serving as the Communications Manager for Women and Girls Empowerment Forum (WaGEF).

Umu K. Turay - Admin Officer

Umu K. Turay has a very strong interpersonal relationship and the ability to organise and priotize tasks, projects and resources effectively. She holds a Bachelor of Science (BSC) Degree in Business Administration at the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM); a Higher Teachers Certificate in Business Studies from the Northern Polytechnic, Makeni Campus and she is currently pursuing a Master in Business Administration- Finance at the University of Makeni. Umu K. Turay has over 8 years of work experience in the field of administration and she is currently serving as the Administrative Manager for Women and Girls Empowerment Forum (WaGEF).

Sulaiman Fofanah - Finance Officer

Sulaiman Fofanah is a graduate from the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM) University of Sierra Leone with Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Accounting and is now pursuing a Master in Business Administration Finance ( MBA Finance) from the University of Makeni. Sulaiman Fofanah has a strong understanding of financial principles, analytical skills, budget analysis and the ability to make strategic financial decisions. He also has a strong knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements. His greatest strength is the passion to learn new things and his ability to adapt fast to new conditions. Sulaiman has wealth of experience in financial management and has worked in the following capacities: Administrative and Finance Coach, Internal Control and Compliance Officer and is now serving as the Finance Officer for Women and Girls Empowerment Forum (WaGEF) where he is ready to work diligently with existing staff to reach organisational goals and objectives.

Mariama Tarawali, Project Manager

Mariama Tarawali has professional competencies that encompass a range of skills and abilities that enable her to effectively initiate, plan, execute, monitor and close projects.She also has the ability to lead and motivate teams, facilitate communication, resolve disputes and makes decisions. She is also very effective in the management of project schedules, meeting deadlines and resources to ensure timely completion. She has experience working with vulnerable women and girls in rural areas and has been doing great in that area. Her deep appreciation for diversity drives her to advance issues surrounding gender. Mariama Tarawali is a holder of a Master of Art Degree in Sustainable Development from the University of Makeni, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Development studies, University of Makeni. She has managed different projects for 10 years in reputable organisations in the country. Mariama is currently serving as a senior Project Manager- for the Women and Girls Empowerment Forum (WaGEF).
